Rubber bonded mulch is a great surfacing option for your new play area or playground, as it adds colour and texture and is suitable for use by children of different ages and abilities.
Rubber bonded mulch safety surfacing is made from recycled tyres covered in a durable coloured coating, which is then mixed with an unpigmented resin binder. Our rubber bonded mulch has been tested in accordance with EN 1177:2008 ‘Impact absorbing playground surfacing - safety requirements and test methods’.
Rubber mulch allows rain and surface water to drain naturally away whilst keeping its appearance of natural mulch. It’s wheelchair friendly so children of different abilities can play. This surfacing can also be used in multiple places - playgrounds, play areas, parks, gardens and pathways.
We highly recommend sweeping up leaves, flowers and other debris, as over time these will rot down forming ‘skin’ within the surface. This stops water being able to drain away and provides perfect growing conditions for algae, moss and weeds.
Most stains on a wet pour surface can easily be removed using hot (not boiling) water and a household detergent such as washing up liquid. We always recommend testing this on a small area of the wet pour first to make sure you’re happy with the results.
