Fairfield Animal Centre

Fairfield Animal Centre: a natural play area for a much-loved family day out.

Fairfield Animal Centre is an award-winning family attraction and charitable animal park. It's home to goats, sheep, pigs, donkeys, alpacas and more, and it runs seasonal events throughout the year.

The centre also plays an important part in its community through the Fairfield Farm Trust. The Trust helps young adults with learning difficulties build new skills and prepare for work.

The brief

Fairfield wanted a playground that would make visits even better for families, while keeping the park's natural, welcoming feel.

Our solution

We designed and installed a large timber multiplay unit built to suit the park's natural look, which includes:

• Multiple towers linked by bridges
• Crawl tubes and cargo nets
• A climbing wall
• Slides, including a spiral slide

We laid wood chip surfacing to keep the earthy look that runs through the rest of Fairfield. Together, these give children of all ages something to climb, explore and enjoy.

Since installation, the playground has helped to enhance the animal centre, encouraging active play and making visits even more memorable for families. This is also a great example of how our wood naturally starts to silver over time, blending in further with the environment.
