What to expect...

We believe that a certain level of assurance is to be expected of a playground company, things that matter to you such as business-to-business transparency, industry accreditations and a guarantee that is reflective of our products. Simply put this is a page that really should go without saying, but is here to proudly present Home Front Outdoor Play as genuine professionals within our field.

Firstly, a bit about us

We’ve been designing and installing climbing frames, playgrounds and play areas for customer’s homes and commercial businesses since 1996.  Our tailored design process means we can create a play area to meet your needs and requirements, so the final result is just the way you want it.  We build all of our outdoor play equipment in our workshop in rural Wiltshire.  They’re hand-made to order, using the finest sustainably sourced materials to create the highest quality play area.

Our commitment to you

We believe when you purchase your playground from us, we should be open and honest, and give you all the facts; from our service and safety, to quality and the materials we use.  Simply put, it’s all the things you’d expect from us.  So that’s what we’ve done, we’ve laid it all out, and if you’ve got any questions, get in touch with us, we would be happy to answer them.

Safety is key

The safety of the children enjoying our playgrounds is our number one priority, always has and always will be. This includes design, location, wood, fixtures and fittings, and where applicable, the surfacing.  We’re members of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), the UK’s leading accident prevention charity, and the Association of Play Industries (API), the lead trade association for the UK play sector.  We’re certified as compliant to BS EN 1176 and BS EN 1177, the European Safety Standard for playground equipment and impact absorbing playground surfacing.  We quality check all of our playgrounds as they’re being prepared and built in our workshop, following the requirements to meet RoSPA standards. Our playgrounds speak of an organic, rustic heritage filled with fun and laughter, and our promise of a safe and secure environment for children to play ensures no child's well being is ever put at risk.

Built to last

We use North American timber which has been tanalised. This means it’s been pressure treated to help preserve the wood. When the treatment has been applied in this method, it gets right into the centre of the wood making it more durable and longer lasting, unlike the more traditional method of using a brush to apply the treatment which only penetrates the surface. We also use the highest quality 304 grade stainless steel for the fixtures and fittings. Every detail has been considered, every swing and slide, every rope and ladder so they work together seamlessly, making sure that the life of your playground is safe and secure. All the ropes used in our bridges and climbing walls are manufactured from steel cored rope creating a strong durable addition to your playground.

Your guarantee

We want to make sure that the playground is not only enjoyed for years to come, but more importantly, remains safe for children to use. Occasionally things may not always go to plan, so for commercial use, we’ll provide you with a 12 month guarantee against all workmanship defects and 20 year guarantee against timber failure caused by rot and/or insect attack on all timber components. Both these guarantees are only eligible to the original purchaser. Surface rust on metal components and surface checking and splits in timber pieces are not considered defects. The company’s guarantee shall be limited solely to the equipment costs; carriage and labour costs are specifically excluded.
