As the country is facing an unprecedented shut down we wanted to reassure and inform as to what we at Home Front are doing. We need to work very hard to keep our customers, suppliers and colleagues safe and at the time of writing this is what our current policies are:

Firstly in the workshop we are observing recommended distancing and manning levels with extra diligence on hygiene. We are also ensuring that the production and despatch sides of the operation are kept separate, so, in the unlikely event of an infection in the workshop it will not be spread beyond to our installers and delivery people.

For customer installations we are limiting teams to one or, at most, two individuals to reduce the chance of cross infection. This will mean an installation may well take longer than normal.

Our installers are instructed to make sure they remain 2m away from any customers at all times of the build, avoid wherever possible touching parts of the property (and pets) and not to accept any coffees, teas etc.

And finally, they are asking our customers to remain away from the equipment for at least 72 hours – or longer if they prefer. There does not appear to be any definitive view as to how long the virus can survive on timber, plastic etc so this is our best estimate.

And as families are facing the summer with no holidays we are experiencing an increase in enquiries and orders, which, together with the enforced staffing reduction in the workshop may well mean that our lead times will be longer than we would like.

The situation does change, sometimes quite quickly, so these policies will be kept under review and will be adapted in the light of government advice.

Please bear with us on this. Eventually we will get through it.

Stay safe; from everyone at Home Front Playgrounds.
